We are looking for a candidate with 3+ years’ experience working with supply chain and logistics end to end.

  • Managing relationships and ordering from vendors and manufacturers, including ordering of parts requiring technical documentation
  • Payments and budgeting related to production and purchasing
  • Tracking and receiving inbound orders and RMAs
  • Working with and implementing ERP/inventory software and process
  • Coordinating ongoing production to meet forecasted demand ensuring required parts and labor are available
  • Overseeing QA completion and tracking during production
  • Shipping end product to customers or data centers locations globally including import/export logistics
  • Reducing costs by finding alternative vendors, bulk ordering and negotiation with vendor
  • Transitioning our production of subcomponents to contract manufacturers

What You’ll Do

The candidate will be responsible for improving and expanding our inventory system over time. This may involve overseeing or implementing custom tools in conjunction with off the shelf tools. In particular, expanding the system in future to include hardware (phones, servers, etc.) purchased in remote locations and deployed directly.

The role includes overseeing shop and server room operation in Toronto including:

Shop:

  • Tool and consumables purchasing and replacement
  • Coordinating shop organization and cleaning
  • Implementing safety practices in the shop
  • Utilities management

Server room (either directly do or oversee tasks):

  • Build server racks
  • Setup of new computers and custom equipment in rack
  • Purchase new or replacement hardware and devices
  • Coordinate internal and customer requests for new equipment in the server room
  • Provide support in case of failures or other incidents in the server room

As we are a small but growing team, this role encompasses a variety of areas. As grow candidates will get an opportunity to focus on areas where they excel and help grow a more specialized team.

Skills

This position does not require all listed skills or experience. This list reflects a cross-section of skills related to this position.

  • Familiarity with ERP and inventory software
  • Understanding of COGS and margins
  • Experience ordering parts with technical specifications: PCB(A), machined parts, cables assemblies, sheet metal parts, formed plastic parts
  • Experience with shipping and import/export logistics
  • Familiarity with datacenter equipment and computer hardware
  • Experience with manufacturing reliability and QA practices
  • Some programming experience, e.g., python
  • Experience with fabrication and manufacturing documentation
